A NEW VISION OF CARTOGRAPHY

Cartography, which traditionally understood to be a means of representing the phenomena of the earth's surface, is considered today to be an information system defined not by its content but by its particular means of expression: space -time -mode -dimension.
Incorporated with the theory of information, cartography takes a new viewpoint: Cartography, Cartography science.
Within this new Science, Thematic Cartography offers the greatest possibilities of study in terms of spatial information system and cartographic symbology.
