Abstract

What is the relation between the act of reading and (R. Barthes’s) semiology?By addressing this question, we attempt: first, to specify the relation between “reading” and “writing”; second, to suggest some essential characteristics of the concepts of reading; third, to undertake an interpretation of (Barthes’) semiology, departing from the idea of the act of reading as its proper object.
