An Empirical Study of the Chinese Students’ Motivation in Undergraduate Degree in Hispanic Philology

Abstract

Based on a questionnaire, in this article we study Chinese students’ motivation in Spanish learning. According to the results obtained from descriptive statistics, factor analysis and MANOVA tests, we found that, firstly, the interest of the students in the Spanish-speaking countries’ culture plays a fundamental role; secondly, the motivation is composed of cultural, linguistic, professional and contextual factors, and thirdly, the modality in the baccalaureate has significant effect on the motivation.
